Lost love

I have loved and lost
Oh my lover, you are not to blame
I always knew , we couldnt be together
Yet, i tried
.......
I admired in you your values,
They were just what I was seeking
Even though you dint seem to like mine.
Still , I tried
.......
You are a fine person I know
But what made you magnificent, was my very desire for you
I thought you are a diamond..
And So , I tried ....
.......
And when I did try,
You squirmed and said no,
It hit me worse than a poisonous arrow,
I hit the ground hard, after this try!
.........
Now the poison is out
And I have stood up again
To see you are still the same person you were
Only my want and desire for you is not there anymore
Why is it that I lost my mind for you
I dont understand now
But finding the answer , i will surely try!!!

Onions & Potatoes

Onions and potatoes,
Please dont cry!
I know my clan stays away from you
Oh you little angels! ,
It is not that they dont like you
They have nothing against you
From earth you rise
And to earth they will also go,
That is no reason for them to treat you so
While plucking you out,
The other lives die.
Who were thriving in the crevices
Of your roots and stem
It is for their sake,
My clan sacrifices you..
They seek the well being of all
There is no discrimination..
Don't ever get us wrong..
For its not that one is superior than the gang
They live and let live..
And so stay away!

In the process

Alone in my room at night,
I try and think over things,
There is a race of being nice or vice,
In whose favor should the winning bell ring.

Why am I so silly,
Why am I so vain?
The senses have told me whats right.
Then why must I endure this pain?

The story started

There is a long story to be told,
Interesting it may sound,
Truth it may not hold,
But surprises it has manifold,
The wisdon it gives is age old,
The end may seem cold.

Let me begin before the start,
As chassis I must lay.

I fell down from a ladder
Not so while ago,
It gave me deep wounds,
My head was hurt,
Body had bruises,
And i needed a doctor.

I knew i should have gone to the clinic.
But i feared being thrashed.

To be continued sooon:)....

I am a Scorpion...

Once upon a time there were 9 planets. After Pluto’s demotion we are now left with 8. These 8, along with the demoted Pluto, affect around 7 billion population of the world. And I am only talking about the human population. If we leave the human demographic aside, we see a much higher number of animals & plant population. Surely the planets must be affecting them! <Marketing Innovation Labs should start selling animal astrology. Shouldn't we have a Scorpion Labrador, Virgo parrot and a Pisces cat?>

Okay, let’s not digress away. So, we have Mercury Venus Earth affecting some humans and thereby classifying them in to some star signs. So we have 23 categories of people<Yes, my mathematics is correct. There are 12 star signs and 11 cusps> on the planet. Now if we can safely rely on probability, then I can say that each of these groups must be having saints and sinners. Each of the above 23 groups must be having social workers and criminals. There must be artists, politicians, scholars and dreamers in all. Some people from each group must have committed suicide. Some must have won the Nobel Prize. Leaders, followers, heroes and cowards, we will be having all of them in the groups. Variety is assured! <I don’t have access to any National or International Demographic data, but I am sure if someone does, the above guess can be corroborated.>

Then what binds them together? Clearly if we have so much diversity in any one group, there can’t be any common characteristic. Yet, Linda Goodman’s book on sun signs and star signs sells like hotcakes. The daily astrological forecast in any newspaper is one of the top read articles.

I was born on the 6 of November. The orientation of the planets was such that Neptune was the planet which was affecting me the most followed by Pluto. Now they say that scorpions are mysterious. This fact can only be proven in one way. Pluto was a mystery to us since a very long time. That it’s not a planet at all was revealed only recently!! They say scorpions believe in Revenge. Other star sign people don’t? Scorpions are ambitious. That is person dependent. What has November got to do with that anyway?

People are getting classified in available groups. Characteristics can always be justified. I find the entire star sign concept amusing. I don’t believe in it, but I do read a lot about it. Just for sheer entertainment. My brother believes in it a lot. He is a Libra. So i like to read the section for Librans in the newspaper and tell him his daily forecast. I find it even more amusing that he keeps on telling me, Sis you are a Scorpion, Libras and scorpions are not the best of compatible signs :D. The idea of belonging to one of the 23 types just doesn't seem right to me.

I was wondering, why are they called star signs? Aren't the planets affecting us?? Or are the remaining 8 planets in line for promotion to be stars????

Inertia for the intangible...

Inertia - The property of matter by which it remains in its existing state of rest or motion unless acted upon by an external force.
That inertia is a property of tangible things is something we all know. That inertia affects an intangible thing called learning is what i propose.

Birth...

We have a very simple request at birth. We want to understand everything around us. Give us that and we leave you in peace. Try not answering our questions and we yell with the loudest shrill. We stare wide eyed and we cry with the voice of highest decibel. We demand explanations left right and center. Schooling exposes us to a whole new universe of knowledge about the world. This is the time we learn how to make friends. All this learning gets us pretty excited. There are so many hopes and aspirations we nurture. We want to be footballers. Cricketers...star. We want to be successful. And we want to shine...
We are learning, we are dreaming, we sleep well at night. Period.

Okay, time to grow up more!!!

Teenagers...
we now accept that we have become realistic so we dream of becoming engineers and doctors and MBA...Some of us who have parents with fat pockets dream of starting their own business. We all dream of cars and nice flats, and weekends at theaters, we dream some more of dinner at nice restaurants...we dream and we study and we pass college...
We are Learning, We are still dreaming, we still get sound sleep at night. Period.

Time to grow some more...

Marriage.
Now we see ourselves settled in our careers. We have just started our married lives. We are now not learning about the world rather more about what’s in our house: "The life partner”. But of course, we are still learning so we are happy... We are dreaming somewhat less, but still dreaming and hence sleeping well at night.

Now. We stop growing

what. When did this happen? Shock horror! We stopped learning professionally as we were nicely enjoying marital bliss. And then once things got usual there, there was nothing new to explore, learn. So what happened? We started feeling a certain amount of discomfort. We started to feel unhappines.Leading a monotonous life after so many exciting phases does that to you. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is what I call inertia affecting learning and in a way you. You stopped learning, so you disrupted your inertia.Inertia provided resistance to you in the form of negative emotions.tut tut...are you now sleeping well? No...

Dimaag ki batti chamki :)

Now you suffer from some mild form of mild life crisis. Which comes way before midlife in today’s generation. So is there any secret to come out of it? Well, that’s hardly a secret. Start learning! You will find it difficult initially as inertia is going to act upon you when you move from your state of rest. But once the initial discomfort is over. You can learn anything you like. But just don’t give up learning. It will keep on supplying you with a plethora of ideas. They will give you a medium to dream and be happy. And you will go back to sleeping well.

Alpharetta

I love you!!!

Alpharetta, I just love you :) I know you are a small town. I know people must have told you that you are no different from any small town in USA. You too have wide streets, less cars, decent drivers and nonexistent traffic. You have your share of Walmart s and Target s. You also have your share of Burger King s, Chipotle and Ruby Tuesday. You have a market place, which is the single biggest place to shop. You are not the only small town I have visited in USA. There are others too like Champaign and Overland Park. They both are startlingly alike. And I know, you must have been told about this countless times.

Yet I feel that you have something in you, which makes you refreshingly different from the other small towns. Maybe its because, in-spite if not being a university town, you seem to be lively. Your climate is just perfect at any time of the year. You have bearable winters with hardly any snow. Your spring and autumn are very enjoyable. The summers are perfect for a shower. The air is so pure, your health is always great. And you are just half an hour away from Atlanta downtown. You carry a right mix of calm and fun.

I will love to meet you again and again. You seem to be my most desired vacation place :) Its so calm and nice and relaxed; it’s THE PLACE to De- stress. You offer amazing food as well. One can go to Romano’s Macaroni Grill for some Italian feast. There are a Chillis and a Cheesecake Factory as well. Nice Indian cuisines in Madras Chettinad and Mayuri. Your roads lead to Stone and Rock Mountains. Nice to have on a vacation map. After a long tiring outing, you offer quiet and peaceful nights, comparable to Himalayas here. Simply put, you are very cozy.

I couldn’t get enough of you when I came there for the first time, and I promise to return to you. Till then, remain the same!

Back to the Future

I went to the movie hall to see Les Miserables today.  I totally enjoyed the movie, while my friend, Cherry, and was totally bored by it. I just loved the musical. It put a smile on my face as easily as it put tears in my eyes. I could feel Anne’s pain and could also sense Jacks dilemma. Russell’s unflinching sense of duty and also blind faith in laws set by monarchy was brilliant. Brilliant Story. Brilliant Performances. Brilliant, that it was a musical.
The movie got over but my mind kept on lingering ....Russell ensured law by the rule book. A classic Monarch servant! He was all might to ensure things are right. How many such people do we meet in our lives? Plenty of them ....just come to power, make some laws and then hire someone who will keep on ensuring that they are followed. Make them pledge that service is religion and religion deserves highest reverence. Whether or not the law is good for public in general is never considered or debated enough. Russell never once questioned his instructions. So don’t most civil servants.
Jack showed he never held any grudge for Russell. Dint he make sense? After all Russell was doing his duty. But he did prove that love can change all. He was himself a changed person. Stealing a loaf of bread for a hungry child made him a criminal. And till his dying day, he had to justify why he did what. But what did he do apart from stealing a loaf of bread and escaping parole? He earned a decent living. He tried helping fellow people. Raised a foster child. And all these acts failed to change his impression in the judicial eyes. He only gave love.

The realization that a criminal could grant him his life as a favor was not something Russell could accept easily and this turned out to be a reason for him ending his life. Think of it. Isn’t it the perfect example of people who just cannot think of their own accord as to what is right and wrong? It’s ok that Russell realized that Jack was a changed person. But that a thief granted him his life was what caused him to cringe. Had it been a king who would have granted him his life, he would have happily lived! This shows that he was not ready to accept that something good can also come from someone he thought was incapable of good. Damn such people. They are not programmed correctly!!
Anne’s helplessness was very disturbing. And the words hit hard when she said "The world is no longer the song it used to be" .There is a time in everyone’s life, when they hit the bottommost pit. These are the times when your dreams are over and all hopes crushed. The music the love the fun, all jus dies. Anne was without money, family. But there was still hope... to see a bright future for her daughter and do whatever in her power to ensure that. That kept her going. But then when law did strike again, and without its ability to use even little bit of artificial intelligence!!! It put her in such a helpless despair, that she died. Her only hope was to raise her child. But being in prison she wouldn’t have been able to do it. And nothing will kill a parent more than the knowledge that he she can’t do anything for the child. Tragic :(
The fight of the youth against the monarch and the purest of pure love between cozzet and Merriam were also amazing. All in the entire musical was a great.
Les Miserables is set in 1820s. Funny thing, it reminds me of the movie back to the future! Please allow me to explain this not so obvious link. Back to the future is all about time travel. And we all know there is no time machine. But frankly, i feel we have one!
Just travel from a developing country to a developed nation. And voila!!!! You have travelled time. As we see the waves that run in a developed. Country at some time, are running again in the developing country after one or more decades. These waves can be social or economic or both. Once a country removes monarchy, we see one by one, all removing monarchy. So you can always go back in time by going to countries where it is not removed. There will be a social reform and democracy will be introduced. Ditto for econimics. If i consider industrilization, it was. First introduced in Great Britain and then spread across the world. So people who must have travelled from GB to RoW...must have felt they trvaled back in time.

Don’t most of the businesses do this today? Money by time travel? Ponder over...: D
