Man is the creator of God.

Long long time ago, I had read an editorial in Times of India, which explored the topic of prayers. It had a very fresh feel to it. The gist of it was to say, we pray to soothe our nerves. We pray when we are upset, hassled, worried, sad, unhappy etc. Sing a song and it won’t have the same effect. But reciting a prayer gives you hope. What makes it so different for a song and a prayer? It is Belief. We have been told right since our childhood that God will always show us the right path and God will help us in times of need. And praying is a medium of communication with God. So the moment we start reciting a prayer, we calm down. As we have a feeling of faith that things will turn out the way we want them. And where we have faith, there we have relaxed nerves.

The article set me thinking some more. Where does this belief and faith come from? Does it come from God? How many times do we hear people say that God is the creator of the universe? Quite often i believe. This is by far the biggest paradox of the universe. We all know Man has created God. And not the other way round. Right from the onset of civilization, Man has always sought explanation for things and events around him. Some he could explain. For others he knew some inhuman forces controlled them. He attributed all of these to God. He gave a name face to these events and explained them as God. In some cases God was also provided the role to maintain local law and order. Hence God was declared to have said some things as right and some as wrong. People followed the same thinking they will be happy if they followed the rights and avoided all wrongs.
The point to note here is that human faith and belief has tremendous power. We pray to God thinking all will be well. But Then God is nothing but our strongest belief. We believe in religion. And religion is one of the strongest controlling factors for humans across the world. If we have complete faith and belief in something, we are sure to be controlled by if. If it’s an ambition, we will achieve it. If it’s an obstacle we will overcome it. We just need to believe in it; sincerely and with full faith.  :)

So let us sing along with the twinkle brothers and say,
Yes Faith can move mountains,
Darling you will see,
I can move mountains,
If you have faith in me.
